The Biennale de Paris was founded in 1959 by André Malraux, then Minister of Culture, who envisioned it as a meeting place for experimenting with new approaches to an art of the future.
To mark its sixtieth anniversary, the Biennale de Paris is organising a programme commemorating its founding. Audiences are invited to a range of activities, events and actions designed to share its history and highlight the City of Paris’s commitment to art and culture.
