Opening a Window
Artist Pierre Monjaret will open a window at the Café des Sports, located at 73, rue Nationale, 32700 Lectoure, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11 a.m.
The artist began opening windows when he lived on rue Alphonse-Allais in Tarbes. Through this gesture, he questions the relationship between art and its temporality. When is there art? His gesture is a response to this question. For this invisual artist, reality is the medium of his artistic practice, which takes shape otherwise than as an artwork.
The artist highlights a seemingly ordinary gesture that becomes art once it is regarded as such. He does not assume a position of authority: opening a window is something anyone can do.
