International Symposium on Invisual Art in Africa
The symposium will highlight the role of spirituality in African art and its connections with the invisual dimension of Western art.
It proposes a reflection on the sources of art, its modes of creation, its forms of remuneration and how it operates. These terms of reference outline the objectives, expected outcomes and methodology of this symposium, which we consider essential to the future of an art in Africa freed from Western models.
It aims to promote the most singular artists living in Africa, making Côte d’Ivoire a hub for the avant-garde and a reference point on the international art scene.
The objective is to provide artists with the most advanced tools developed through research into invisual art and to address questions within this field that offer significant potential for theoretical and practical development.
The symposium is open to artists, researchers, experimenters, demonstrators, teachers, art critics and art historians.
This dimension of invisual art is not intended to be exhibited for sale: it does not take the form of an art object. It embodies a universal conception of art, of harmony among peoples and of their relationship with the living world. It serves as a reference point for peace.
