ENDA (École nationale d’art de Paris) will inaugurate its 26th session on 19 November 2026 in Paris. This event marks the beginning of a new year of artistic research and experimentation, bringing together the school’s incoming artist-researchers around approaches to be developed beyond the established frameworks of art.

The only school of research in the arts in the world, ENDA develops its own educational standards, methodologies and research tools, which do not exist elsewhere in higher arts education. It provides a framework enabling each person to build a distinctive artistic practice, break free from the ingrained habits of the art world and invent their own conditions for creation and existence.

One of ENDA’s defining principles is that the ecosystem of an artistic practice forms an integral part of the practice itself. Research takes shape through an individual year-long project, with an economic, ecological and social model tailored to it. Artists develop autonomous, sustainable practices capable of acting in the real world, independently of dominant models, including the art market.

Grounded in collective intelligence, ENDA’s teaching encourages the emergence of new forms of collaboration, thought and experimentation. Each artist-researcher is encouraged to develop critical and self-critical thinking, strengthen their ability to think and act independently, and build an ecosystem that supports their own growth.

The 26th session will run from 19 November 2026 to 25 June 2027, with two working days each week, on Thursdays and Fridays. It will lead to the award of the DNREA (Diplôme national de recherche et d’expérimentation en arts — National Diploma in Research and Experimentation in the Arts). Research developed during the session may also be extended through ENDA’s residencies in Italy and the international projects of the Biennale de Paris.

The launch on 19 November will provide an initial opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and put into perspective the research to be developed during this new session. It will introduce the school’s educational approach, working methods and the key questions shaping this year of research.

The event is intended for ENDA’s incoming researchers and is open to the general public upon prior registration, subject to availability.
